I had a six month contract three days a week with a branch of Beyond Fitness in the miami area that they have failed to complete.
They were an independent contractor working out of a Livingwell Lady gym. Beyond Fitness has since been replaced by another non-independent fitness company after the gym received many complaints about them. They never notified me about this. I don't know where the company has gone or if they are even still in existence. I was given two numbers to call and only received a voice message.
My experience with them was unusual from the beginning. I entered into a contract with one trainer and a week later was told to work with a different one. That second trainer has since left (he personally notified me about this) and the manager was fired. They have taken my money, over $1,500 in cash and have failed to give me all of my sessions which they promised they would do.
As part of my payment plan, they would automatically withdraw fees every month from my bank account.intelligent or not, I gave them my account number which they still have access to. I am concerned as to how much money they have actually been withdrawing from my account.
Furthermore, I have been told by an ex-employee that the paperwork of beyond fitness is in dispute. The company contracts were a violation of state requirements. The employee told me that he was unaware of this, which might explain why many of the nonmanagerial employees were being moved around so much. He also informed me that the cost of my sessions were too high and that the gym was receiving complaints about different price arrangements that were being made by them.
When I entered into the contract, I was not presented with a standard price list but rather had to rely upon the manager's price quotes. Apparently, the company did not use a standard price list when entering into contracts with their clients.
I am very angry and very concerned. I am concerned that my paperwork has since been destroyed and am unsure where to go from here? I know there are many others who are experiencing similar problems with beyond fitness. If you are reading this and have also experienced any problems with that company, please advise me about how your situation was dealt with.
Companies like this are a fraud and must not be allowed to exist.
