The business that doesn't give a dam! I know I'm not the only one they've screwed others too

I was at work one day and got an email from some business on the internet giving away a "free" phone. I checked out the email and thought it looked like a good deal so I responded and received a phone in the mail.

I didn't receive any paper work for my phone other than a photo copy of the address to send my phone back to and a phone number for customer service. I wasn't sure what my phone plan or contract was so I called and spoke with someone. I wasn't interested in the plan that they were offering and I also didn't get any reception so I verified the address to send it back to and sent it. I never placed a phone call on my phone.

In the meantime I purchased another phone through a different carrier and was satisfied with them. But, then I received a letter from them stating that I hadn't paid. I called them and finally figured that I was paying WorldCom accidently instead of my new carrier. That's when it all began that horrible day in January...

So, I contact WorldCom to let them know that I was paying them in error and wanted to be refunded the $217.00 I had paid them. I attempted to contact them for 4 days but the "estimated call time" was anywhere between 22 and 54 minutes. I mean come on that's ridiculous. I finally decided that I would call them early in the morning when they open at 6:00am!

I finally spoke to someone, told them I didn't have the phone, sent it back to the address I was supplied with, but no such luck. There's nothing they could do for me.

It turns out they never received the phone back from me and without any "confirmation" number from the post office there's nothing they could do for me except charge me the $250.00 "early termination" fee or drop my plan to the lowest available which was $24.99. It would turn out to be about the same amount if I canceled or kept the $24.99 x 10 months of the remaining contract. So I did that being that I didn't have the money and I'd already paid the jerks $217.00.

I tried to get a new phone because I obviously didn't have the one I sent back and thought well if I have to pay I might as well get another phone. I tried through email and on the phone, but it never happened.

So, I continue getting billed monthly amounts that are more than I was told I would be paying and it is 3 months later. I call 3/20/2 to find out what the problem is and I'm told that even though I called in January and changed my plan to $24.99 it doesn't take into effect until April! What! That makes no sense. Again, I'm pissed!!!

I called today 3/21/02 and asked for a history of my call log. I asked Raul @ ext 8191 (800) 983-2220 to give me the dates that I've phoned Worldcom and was told that I called three times.

Twice on 3/20/02 (i called once) and once on 3/11/02. They show no record of me changing my plan. What! Within 1 day my account information had changed. When in fact I called and spoke to someone regarding my plan and sending the phone back in November January when it all began, emailed 6 emails in February regarding the re-telling of the same story and placed a few calls in March to finally say FU and shut my phone off I'll pay the frickin $250.00. But, of course there's more. Because of there two month lag in billing I would be recieving 2 additional bills for a grand total of services never rendered being roughly $550.00! Ouch! That definetly hurts!

I could go on and on about the run around you get with these jerks! They will pay me back! I'll make sure of it and you should too!
