Ripoff

I have recently had an unfortunate encounter with CBCS today. They contacted me by my parents phone and left a message. I called the number back and when they answered, I tried to explain my issue that CBCS says I owe a three year old bill with Ameritech who is now Bell South. The only problem is that I was told it was for a telephone number I had in accordance with my parents address. My parents have had only one phone line in their house and that number has not changed in over 28 years.

The first lady was rude by continually interupting me by asking for my new address. I was simply asking her to "validate" this bill. While she was asking for my information, she asked if my address was still (such and such). She used caller i. D to verify what number I was calling from, because I asked her how she knew what number I was calling from. She didn't even aknowledge that I was speaking. Finally she hung up on me, so I called back.

The next time, a man answered the phone and there was a long pause before he finally said hello. Shouldn't he have said " Hello, thank you for calling, or you called%?" I got the same attitude from him until he hung up on me. So I called a third time, and amazingly a supervisor picked up. I tried to explain my issue stating that I have no problem in paying my bills, as long as they are validated. He told me that he could not until he had updated information. I asked him to send it to my parents address, and he refused. He hung up on me when I told him I had no contact phone and please do not call my parents any more. I immediately called the BBB and was advised on what to do.

So I called back one last time, the lady who picked up said I was automatically transferred to her and what can she do to help? I asked her for a validation of my bill and she blew me off as if I said nothing and continued to try to pump me for my information ie. Phone, job, major source of income, routing number and told me this was my bill not hers and to go get my check book." I 'll wait." I hung up on her. I went online and found this website. I think it's peculiar how the same company can have more than one address and/or phone number, but be in Columbus. I read a few complaints of others whose telephone number they received is the same as mine with a different address, and some even had p.O. Boxes. Does that sound like a scam to you? I will not let this alone and I intend on keeping people posted.
