Ripoff, misleading, what a mockery, makes people feel like a total FOOL

I submitted many poems to poetry.com and was informed via both email and snail mail that 16 were to be published in the fall of '05 in the Eternal Portraits anthology!
I was happy and excited as these poems were from my heart about many different topics. My mother and grandma dying; breast cancer; alzheimer's; hobbies; pets; you get the picture.

I was all set to mail the check to them for the hardbound anthology in the amount of $49.95, then you add a profile about yourself for another $25.00.

I don't know what told me to check out this website, but let me tell you, I was astounded and hurt at what I found on here about these con artists!

People work hard with their heart and soul on poetry and it's so meaningful and to be taken advantage of like this is totally ignorant.

I am a lucky person though as I didn't send any money to these people. I feel sorry for those that did and were ripped off and had their dreams of being published as a poet crushed and the wind sucked out of them.
I also received notification yesterday that one of my poems were accepted by: The League of American Poets located in Baltimore, MD. Does anlyone out there know if this is also a ripoff deal?

I haven't seen anything about the league of american poets on here. The letter I received from them though sounds a lot like the one I got from poetry.com.
Thanks so much!
