MCI worldcom cell service - No disconnect Ripoff

We have had MCI WorldCom cell service for about 18 months. I opened both accounts; both are under my husbands' name. When I open the account by phone they knew I was not my husband. I gave them my name and relationship to the account holder (my husband). Later when I began having trouble with my phone not working I called MCI for service. They would not talk to me because my name was not on the account. That is what began the worse relationship with any company I have ever encountered. What made the situation worse was the difficulty getting a hold of anyone. I would try for hours, and days. My husband being a physician does not have the time to sit on the phone and try for hours to talk to a service rep. Finally, one service rep. Suggested we do a conference call with MCI, me and my husband. I wish I could remember her name. She was my only positive light in all my experience with MCI.

The billing situation is a horror story. Notices come in the mail saying Don't Pay. Then one day a bill comes and they say Pay This. The amount was hundreds of dollars. The posting of payment to your account may take weeks. We would pay a bill and 2 days later get a notice we are late 2 months. I have never been able to reach anyone live to explain their method of billing. Last year we paid over $2000.in service. According to plans we should be paying around $1200.

Now we want to disconnect our service. Again getting a hold of a live person is not easy. It took 4 phone calls to get a number to call to have our service disconnected. I was given a specific number for disconnection. I called for two days using auto dialing. It became a joke in my office, people would come by and push the redial button on my phone during the day, we all got the same results BUSY!!! I called MCI very early the second day and said the discounting number was not a working number. The MCI service person put me on hold and called the number herself. Came back to me and said she was able to connect. So, the entire day was spent with me and my office associates pushing redial BUSY!!!

Today I called again. (Hint: do not use the automated phone number message dial 0 to get a live person.)
I told MCI again that it is not a working number. We exchanged a few words (frequently done). My service rep was name James today. I told him I wanted to discontinue service. Of course I could not because I am not the account holder; my husband would have to call in. I asked James to let me talk to his supervisor, he said this is not a surpervisor situation. I said "Yes it is. I am the customer and if I want to talk to a surevisor I should be able to." I did get to talk to a supervisor, "Megan Olson". She was no help. MCI Customer service is a joke, a big joke. My line of work is satisfying customers. I do it daily! MCI - does not know the meaning of Customer Satisfaction. I told Megan MCI was willing to have me open the accounts. They allowed me to give permission for them to bill me and take our money. But when it came for me, the one who opened it, to close it, was impossible!!! Needless to say I "lost". WHY - because I am, or was, a customer of MCI Worldcom cell phone.

I HATE MCI - I tell everyone I know about the lousy service. I tell them my horror story and send them to this web site if they have doubt. My next step is my Attorney General's office. This should not happen to anyone. It is not right to be treated the way MCI Worldcom treats is customers.
