MY PERFECT CREDIT - MyPerfectCredit.com - Val-U-Corp - 1st Credit of America
Ripoff, scam, debt collection

In March I signed up for a free credit report and services from MyPerfectCredit.com. I was supposed to receive an User ID and Password via email so I could sign in. That information never arrived in my email. I called on March 14 and asked where that information was and they said they would send it. It never arrived.

On April 6 my debt card was assessed a charge of $30 by MyPerfectCredit.com. I called customer service on April 10 and spoke with a service rep. And explained the situation. She said she would send me a cancellation/refeund request via email and my refund would be processed within 24 to 48 hours. I did not receive the cancellation notice.

On April 14 I called again and requested a cancellation/refund. I was told where to retrieve the request online. I immediately filled out the request, submitted it with the information listed above and I was promptly REFUNDED the $30 that was charged to my account.

On July 20 I was contacted by 1st Credit of America regarding a debt of $165.65 that I owe to MyPerfectCredit.com. I was told that I needed to pay the debt or it would be attached to my credit report. I explained the series of events and they directed me to contact MyPerfectCredit.com.

I immediately contacted MyPerfectCredit.com and the customer service rep said that she was unable to help me at Level 1 support, but she did provide me with the confirmation numbers of the phone calls that I had made. She said that only Level 2 support could help me. I asked to be transfered to Level 2 support and she said she had no way of transferring or contact them. I had to contact them via email. I asked her what I should do in the meantime and she said that in order to dispute the debt I had to do it through 1st Credit of America.

I called 1st Credit of America back and they told me they had no dispute process in place and that collection would continue until such time that MyPerfectCredit.com informed them otherwise.

On July 21 I sent both organizations a letter outlining the details above and included a copy of the cancellation that I had submitted to the company on April 14. I have given them 5 business days to resolve the matter, at which time I will take legal action against both companies.

To date, July 27, I have received nothing in writing from either company, including a correction, a validation of the debt, nothing. I spoke with Ms. Bullard at 1st Credit of America (1-866-505-8249) and attempted to explain where I was and asked her to stop calling until this was resolved. She immediately asked "Are you refusing to pay this debt?" and I told her "of course." She then stated that the telephone calls would continue until I paid the debt.

Here's the great challenge of this. MyPerfectCredit.com is a Nevada Corporation, which means that the organization does not reside in Nevada. The physical address given on the website for MyPerfectCredit is actually a company called Val-U-Corp a Nevada Incorporation Service. The fax number of (425) 977-8729 is in Bellvue Washington. The company is governend by the laws of the State of California and arbitration takes place in Orange County California. Does anyone know where these guys have actually set up shop?

Stay away from my perfect credit!

At the end of this week if I have not resolved this matter with them, I will be contacting the BBB, FTC, local news organizations and a lawyer. If it becomes a legal case, I will be seeking a substantial punitive judgement.
