These folks must make lots of short-term interest money with this scam because they tried it on me, too. Their bill—plus taxes for the call I didn't make—was $7.93.
I called OAN Plus#—the billing company afilliated with Telseven—and talked to someone named "Alfred." While he insisted that I did make the call—which I didn't—he also offered to credit my SBC account "over the next two billing cycles." This evidently so that they could keep the interest their scam earns over that time period. I hung up and called SBC.
After I told SBC what happened, they told me that they would dispute the charge, remove it from my bill, and not pay these vultures. It's only about 8 bucks, but if everyone does this, maybe that'll discourage these players. Probably not, though. They'll probably just look for another way to rip us off.
