My credit card was stolden and used at circuit city. Within two days a young man (I am a woman) purchused nearly 8k worth of goods at the same store with the same checkout person. After the cameras were obtained and it proved not to be me, I have been held responsibly for the money owed.
They say someone has to pay for it. I say CIRCUIT CITY should pay as they were the ones who have let a man use a women's card. What is this world comming to when a store can not protect customers, punnish employees, and take care of innocent people who would not have been frauded if they had doen their job correctly. I will be reporting to VISA about this.
I even have a statement from the checker saying she knew she did wrong. I think VISA would be very interested in how this company could have prevented my pain. I encourage any other to file with VISA and also small claim court. Stores have a "check ID" contract and if they break it everyone pays, but they should pay the most!
