Tax Ready is a Rip-off!!! They must be prosecuted! I signed up
with Tax Ready on 12/6/01 and cancelled, by fax, on the same day. They confirmed receipt of my faxed cancellation but REFUSE to refund my money. They gave all sorts of excuses..."Compliance must authorize the refund, Compliance is at a meeting, Compliance is in the office but no one is picking up the phone... I can connect you to a voicemail, our computers are down, I'll have someone call you back, etc.". I called many times at various times of the day, was put on hold for 30 minutes or more many times, and as of today, 2/20/02 I STILL HAVE NO REFUND. On 1/16/02 Jeff Everheart (of Compliance) called and confirmed he is having my refund processed. He lied. As of 2/11/02 no refund was being processed. I called PaySystems.com of Montreal, Canada who was the merchant appearing on my credit card as the recipient of the $995 I paid TaxReady (Tel: 514-448-4819) and they confirmed no refund was in process as of 2/11/02. They promised to process the refund that same day but claim they cannot give an authorization # or anything I can use to track down the refund. They say I need to wait another 30 days... And if by then I still do not have the refund, I should call them again.

This whole situation has been VERY AGGRAVATING and all victims of Tax Ready should unite to take action against them. They have had use of my money for over 2 months now... And should be accountable not just for the $995 but for all the stress, loss of time, money, and opportunity caused by their fraudulent ways. The Attorney General's Office of Nevada is investigating them, as is the Federal Trade Commission.
The email address for the Attorney Gen's office is BCPINFO@ag. State. Nv.Us. They are very prompt about acknowledging email. I even got a phone call from them acknowledging receipt of my faxed documents... And they were very helpful in giving advice on the best way to proceed.
Send them your complaint and documentation of proof of payment.
As fraud victims we should unite and banish fraud!!! Someone suggested filing a class action lawsuit. Let's do it!!!
I'd be interested in hearing from other victims (even if you have received your refund, finally!)... We must also try to reach others who may not know how to fight these guys! TaxReady has NO RIGHT to defraud and hurt people. With the economy and job losses, most of us are suffering enough.
