I can't verify that this has actually worked yet, but:
I emailed three or four people at the radio station where I first heard the Tax-Ready advertisement. Two of them are on-air personalities and one is the Public Service Announcement manager.
I basically told them that they should investigate the company, what happened to me, and I included a copy of the report about the Attorney General's lawsuit/investigation. All three emailed back with some acknowledgement or suggestion. And two days later the advertising account manager called. He said he talked to someone at Tax-Ready and that they had agreed to send me a refund within 72 hours. I won't be holding my breath, but it sounds promising.
He explained that the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission had closed Tax-Ready down to investigate Fraud charges. After 2 days, they allowed them to re-open (after determining there wasn't any fraud going on but that there was a problem with the refund policy in place. The FTC will be overseeing a changeover in their refund policy. Hopefully the account manager wasn't being fed a big pile of what we have all been fed!!! Good Luck! D. Scott Shultz
