Here we are again, with Cydcor.
I worked for one of the subsidiary DBA's based here in L.A. And am now very sorry that I fell into the trap. I was a new graduated college student looking for a career right off the bat and stumbled across a company that required a 4-year degree. Mistake number 1.
I went in for the first interview and though it was a little to brief, for them to find out who I really am, I thought nothing of it when I went in for the second interview.
After walking around for half an hour on the day of observation, I thought that there was no way in hell that I would take on this job, but was quickly brain washed into believing that it wasn't sales, it was MANAGEMENT. Bulls*t. They need sales people to make them there money. I signed up and fought with my parents about this company and its credibility, and realize now that they were right.
I worked there for a total of one week when I was asked to move across the country, and agreed to do so. I really like the people I worked with and could be very good friends with all of them, so moving across the country with them, didn't seem like such an imposition. I soon started to realize that something was up, when people complained about there paychecks and were not getting paid on sales that they had walked around for 12 hours to find.
I was getting up at 5 everyday to get to work on time an hour away (L.A. Traffic) and then driving all day just to get to my "T" (territory) so that I could have another day of my youth and college degree taken away from me.
I then found out that some of the people I worked with, were only 2 year degreed or had none at all. WHAT???
I don't want to bash the employees, they were all awesome and were also in it for the dream of management. But you guys are all brainwashed. GET OUT
I was working full days and not getting anything out of it, until one day i woke up and realized that I was working 65 hours a week (No problem) and getting paid $300 a week. I guess I couldn't cut it. (A load of Bulls*t).
If you have a college degree, do not apply here, you will waste your hard earned time and money on a career oppurtunity, that does not recognize this sacrifice that you have made. If you do not have a degree, I say go for it, because without a degree it is probably a great oppurtunity to make 6 figures if you have the drive.
This is by no means a bash on the company, but people must relaize before going in for the second interview, that it is not all that it is cracked up to be, and YES there are better places to make you millions besides an ICL.
I have successfully started my own Real Estate Investment Company, and thank Cydcor for opening my eyes to all the realities out there. I have taken away alot from the experience, but am now very happy that I am no longer apart of the false pretenses that surround that company.
I didn't understand the reasoning behind some of the employees, because some of them had great minds and ambition to make it, and knew that the comany wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, but still were in it for the dream. WHY waste such ambitious minds. I know I got caught up in convincing people to stay, but in reality I should have told them to RUN RUN RUN.
I did make leadership after 4 days and was averaging a sale a day, (but only got paid provided that they went through) and so was on the track to become management. Of course people came and went on a daily basis, but still we hired everyone and anyone. The only requirement, was that you could read.
If you come across a company with... Marketing solutions, marketing international, marketing group, or any other. Make sure you find out that they do not do marketing for fortune 500 companies, and that they require a four year degree, Question the lady on the phone and ask for the persons name on the Monster, Careerbuilder ad, and if not there, then ask that person to call back. Be strong and stern with these people, because the minute they have 5 minutes of your time, you will then be brainwashed into a career that many did not make it through, and if they did. Did not succeed in management.
