Lap top malfunction - Sony Vaio Laptop

I bougth a laptop a vaio Sony that was on sale on Oct by January it had some hardware issues took the lap top to the store and had no help at all! I send it back to the manufactures center and was able to solve the problem in about a week or two. I had purchased my microsoft office in the store wich I had installed and was given no product key card at the end now Sony fixed the hardware problem but HHgregg had to reinstall my microsoft office and they decide to keep my lap top for a week to end up telling me I have to call microsoft and get the product key number!!! Now I call microsoft and they said since I purchased it at a retail store they are supposed to have a back up account incase something like this happens to be able to assist the customer!!!
