In December I purchased an outwear jacket from Hollister at Victoria Square in Belfast, Northern Ireland. 3 weeks later, on Saturday 19th January I returned to the same store to browse the new %u201850% off%u2019 sale clearance sale %u2013 but whilst I was trying on some new items of clothing, my outwear jacket had disappeared from where I had set it down.
Confused and in a panic, I approached the closest member of staff who told me that my property had %u201Cprobably%u201D been put back on the clothing rail. I was completely fine and understanding about this, as the coat I was wearing was still being stocked in-store and I know it was a genuine easy mistake to have made.
I was more disappointed with how the member of staff dealt with this situation.instead of helping and assisting me to look for my coat, she pointed at where the coat %u201Cmay%u201D have been placed and advised me to browse through the front of the stores outwear clothing rail on the own to find it! This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional, leaving me as a customer feeling profoundly embarrassed and uncomfortable with the situation.
The member of staff made no attempt to walk me to the front of the store to help me locate or recover my property.infact, when I finally located and removed my coat from the clothing rail to walk out of store, I was highly scrutinized by onlookers and Hollister greeting staff. I have never felt as embarrassed, intimated and as uncomfortable in my entire life.
Saying that, I shop at Hollister regularly - not just at home but also abroad and I know this is an extreme exception to the usual excellent customer service that the company provides. I adore Hollister, but on this occasion one of their most loyal customers has been majorly let down.
