One cannot have two Lifeline phones. Assurance fails to tell subscribers that upon joining. They realizeyou may have an exising Lifeline after a few weeks and send letters stating people cannot have two Lifeline services. The letter states that if you want to continue your other service and cancel Assurance you need do nothing and things will remain the same with the other service. I received three letters stating this. Today I found out my Verizon lifeline has been cancelled due to correspondence Assurance sent them. Verizon reaudits and cancels your Lifeline service. You must reapply and in the meantime pay more for your phone service and have no Lifeline.
Assurance mistates what will happen and creates problems for those needing Lifeline service. You have no one in customer service who is interested and no one other to call. They say it's the government, so try dealing with that.
Also, Assurance offers texting for more money. Another Lifeline cell phone company offers it in the original package. One uses less minutes if one can text. If they truly want to service needy customers, Assurance should offer some minutes to text in their original package.
Now I must start all over for a service that was fine and in place for years. Assurance's interference and false claim in their correspondence now costs me more money and the annoyance and delay of applications and documenations for something I already had in place. A service needed by me and excellent to have. And now I don't have it because of Assurances interference and false information.
