Management in Bonkers in Peabody has ruined my 6yr old son's birthday party on May 16th. Me and my wife booked a party for our son, When my wife contacted the company about pricing and the arrangements the basic questions were asked by the manager when booking the party. How many children would be attending, How old is the boy, Food etc. During the party we realized we only had a single row for our party approx. 12 chairs for all of my guests to sit in, While all the surrounding parties had double rows for there party, I had all my adults standing and many children as well. When we asked management why did all the other families have double rows there answer simply was they paid an extra $50 for that row. This was strange because we were never offered a second row when booking our party and had we been offered this service we would of simply paid. Now picture about 15 people standing in a birthday party while other families had plenty of seating for there party "How Embarrassing". When we spoke to management about this they simply said its impossible for us to have not been told about the extra row for $50 when booking our party. I asked how he could be so sure we was offered the row and he simply said mangers book the parties and they NEVER would make that mistake. This made me very angry to hear, I stated that even though there managers they are human and everyone makes mistakes. Management didn't want to hear what we had to say, They treated us with disrespect and stated there is nothing they can do about it. One of the mothers having a birthday party next to our party witnesses this entire even and pulled me aside to tell me she has been booking parties there for 8 years and she never had to pay $50 for an extra table for the adults to sit at and management was lying about this. This made me very furious to know Bonkers was taking advantage of me and family.
After approaching the manager with this he simply was rude and very disrespectful and kept saying there is absolutely nothing he could do to about this. We asked for a break on the birthday party since we felt we were betrayed by the company and there lack of accommodating services. The manager there was no way he would accommodate us with anything and we would pay full price and they would not take responsibility for there error. I then asked for the 3 managers names so I could report them to there superiors and this is when it turning, They all stated they do not have to give me there names and they refused to work with me. I told them i have every right to there names since i have done business with there company. They refused and refused and one man through a business card at me and said visit the website for information. At this point i was in raged and started to raise my voice with many people looking on, Management called the police without my knowledge and they arrive within minutes. How embarrassing this is all going on with a child's birthday party going on and now police are on the scene. After explaining to the police about my issue they sided with me and my wife we had every right to know there names since we felt we paid for a service and we felt the service was not handled in a professional manner. The police got the information form management and relayed it to me and one of the police offers told me this location has trouble all the time and I should report them to the owner, This is not the first time they treated customers this way and the police was called. After the police left me and my family paid our bill and started to leave Bonkers when the same manger ran up to me and stated i didn't pay my bill in full. My wife had paid the bill and realized the amount in which they charged us was over the price we was told originally so my wife paid the correct amount and left a note explaining that there was an error on there behalf. The manager was stating we didn't pay our bill and we explained the bill was wrong. Again they threatened to call the police. After screaming in front of many families and embarrassing us over and over management when over the bill again only to find out that they made a mistake on our bill. Management never apologized for there mistake with the bill and simply made us feel belittled because the bill was over only $11 over. I wish I knew there names to single these 3 men out, All I got was the owners names and there information, I'm hoping these 3 manager will be accountable for there actions and Bonkers as a company will enforce punishment for there actions. I have been going to Bonkers for years and I will never return nor recommend Bonkers in Peabody. How easily could it of been for Bonkers to just accommodate me and my family and make my sons party the best he deserves.instead they wanted to be confrontational and difficult. They obviously don't take there employment background seriously when hiring these types of people.
