Our sales rep came to the house and measured for hardwood flooring. Agreed to a price and she said they would begin the next day. Our installer called early in the morning an d said he was finishing a job in Indianapolis (we live in Louisville KY, a two hour drive). He said he would call around one for updates. I called him at 2:30 and he said he would be leaving Indy in 2 hrs. He then called at 8:30 to say he would be there soon and we said forget it. Tried to cancel, but they offered us $500 off. We said ok. Then when he started ripping carpet and parquette (?) out, he said iot would be an extra $2000 because our floors were not level. His contact at Empire then told my wife that I was a Liar and that she was a liar and either pay the $2000 or his guy was leaving. He is now trying to patch work the flooring already ripped out. Mike, the installer, has been more than courteous. The sales rep (Nicky) then told us she told us there could be extra charges if the flooring was difficult. Lie. Never mentioned anything about extra costs. If you have these people try to sell you anything. Run like Hades in the other direction. They agreed to a price. We agreed to a price.
