Not great contact, but considerable discounting

So, AFTER placing my order for a vanity marble top sink, I checked the reviews on Decor Glamour and was shocked at how bad they were.

Summary:

If you're willing to deal with a certain amount of abuse (no pro-active contact, several weeks of waiting, and having to accommodate wide-hourly-window freight shipping schedules), the savings is significant.

Review:

Was looking for a Porcher vanity marble counter sink. Retail price was about $3000. Other online retailers sold the combination for about $1800 $200 in shipping. Decor Glamour was advertising the combination for $1299, less a 3% "sale" discount, with FREE shipping.

When I ordered, the system didn't give me the discount. After an email (with no reply) and a phone call two days later (press 1 always when you call), they credited me the 3% back to my credit card.

They told me on the phone it was drop shipped and could take 10 days. Hearing nothing, on the 11th day, I called and was told it had just come in and would ship out from Boston that day. The next day I called in, and it hadn't shipped. The following day, however, it HAD shipped, and the woman gave me a shipping tracking number from R&L trucking.

R&L said it would come 3 days later to my home, but couldn't give me a window. They told me I could call morning-of to get a better idea of a time window. I called morning of, learned my time window, and I was available for the delivery.

When I opened the gigantic package, the vanity was the WRONG COLOR.

I rejected the shipment, the guy put it back on the truck, and I called Decor Glamour to speak with "Joe". Joe told me he'd call their vendor and get back to me that day. 45 minutes later, he left a voicemail saying that the vendor identified the problem, that two orders had been mixed up, and they would fix it. Joe said it might be 2 weeks before I got the correct shipment.

Thank goodness I was home. Otherwise, I'd have been left with a gigantic product and no way to return it.

After 10 days, it still hadn't shipped, so I called. Joe said it would ship out that day or next. Two days later, I received a call from K&L trucking. I learned my window morning-of, and was available for the shipment.

This time it was the right item in the right color!

Along the way, the communication was never proactive. But whenever I had a question and called in, I was never on hold for more than 5 minutes before reaching a real person. Joe and the other woman were both reasonably friendly, though I never gave them a hard time for all the delays and hassle.

If you are able to take a day (or two) off of work and don't have a firm timeline for your project, Decor Glamour might be worth the considerable savings.

But you MUST be willing to take a day off to be able to inspect the product before the delivery company leaves, so that you can reject it if necessary. And then you MUST be willing to take a second day off for the second go-round, if necessary.
