Earnest money mood change

We found a property on line listed with ReMax NorthCountry realty in Hackensack, MN. The husband wife realtor were very friendly and quite nice people. That is until we handed them the check for earnest money. At that time the mood changed 180 degrees.
Getting to them on the phone was always voice mail. Return calls took 2 to 3 days or did not happen at all.
Then, items disappeared from the property as well as an agreement for an easement was ignored.
I spoke with the realtors, our realtors.
Then the franchise owner. Then the regional manager. I sent emails, made calls and sent letter. I have not once heard anything from the regional manager. The franchise owner just kept telling me that his hands were tied.
Final advice was to seek legal advice!
This is customer service?
Also, I do not know how to explain the attitude and plain snotty talk we received.
I have yet to exhaust the corporate headquarters but this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced by far!
