Long story short. Placed earnest money deposit on house to be built. Slab had already been poured. When we went back a few weeks later, enough of the framework of the house had been constructed to let us know that the house had been built in a 'flipped' plan; i.E. Garage on left, not on right, front door on right, not on left. Contact realtor to let them know that this was not what we had agreed on. We were told that we had chosen floor plan XYZ and that was what we were getting. I told them that we had chosen XYZ and not ZYX and that we would not be purchasing that house. They threatened to sue us for breach of contract. I even talked to the owner of the construction company with no resolution. They even had the audacity to use cheap tub surrounds instead of the tiled bathrooms we had asked for.
They kept our $1000.00 earnest money deposit, too.
