My mortgage was refinanced to 4.5 % and sold to Chase several months ago. I quickly found that it takes them an extra 5 business days to post online payments. SO, if your mortgage is due on the 1st, you must pay it earlier. Last month, they added another headache and double posted my payment. When I called CS, I was told that to remove THEIR error, it would have to be done in writing and would take weeks. So, I stopped payment and have since sent the checks by mail. On the phone today, they threatened to report me to the credit agencies for being 2 months behind. I don't think this is unusual behavior (the double posting) because one of the 5 reportable CS titles says "double posted". I would love to get my old mortgage company back - SunTrust who had to fix this by stopping the double posting. I've never been late on a payment in 30 year, but this concern is about to ruin my credit because they won't admit that their online payment system is a mess! So, this is what customer service is coming to?
