I have been living in this apartment complex for almost 2yrs. I was recently a victim of a hate crime and vandalism to my vehicle on friday. Yesterday I went to speak to my manager to give her my 30day notice because I fear my life and my children life. I then told ask what are the steps of breaking the lease she told my I have to pay up from another $1400 after I paid my months rent of $1295. I told her I can not come up with that much money today, but I would have it before the end of my 30day notice. She then stated that her job is more important and that my circumstance is not a special circumstance and I have to pay her the $1400 today and if I can't do that then I can leave tonight and she can send my name to collections. I asked her if she had a boss and she told me no. She stated that she is the boss. I asked her if she owned this apartment complex, she had no answer. I just need some help in getting in contact with the property owner for this apartment complex to make a complaint about this manager, because it seems to me my safety is of no concern to her. I feel unsafe at this apartment complex. The manager didn't care about what I had to say. She basically just brushed me off and threatened to send my information to collections when I've been paying my rent on time for the past year and 9months.
