Green tree took over the bankrupt GMAC loan and compared the customer service at GMAC as well as the information available through GMAC these companies leaves a great deal to be desired. Their phone tree to get to an actual person is a nightmare. You don't know who your loan person is unless you ask someone. No one offers information. Speaking to a customer service person did absolutely no good I had to call a second time spending at least 30 min on line just to get to a real person. Who did correct theproblem. They have cashed an extra principle check but did not apply to my loan. If you email them on line to find out they respond in a letter. I am yet to receive a response to any emails even by snail mail since they took over. You have to call, run the gamet of their phone tree to get to a person unless you know your extension which you dont get unless you talk to someone. Very frustrationg. If i emailed GMAC they responded online very quickly. This company sucks as far as customer service. The way the post payments you cannot see the interest paid unless you do the math. The drop in interest paid per payment is far less than it was with GMAC. I am looking to pay this off early or refinance just to get rid of them
