I am filing this report in the hopes that our local government will take note of the dishonorable practices of our district attorney's office here in Blount County, TN. I can't tell you how I know this, but rest assured I'm on the inside. If I wasn't getting ready to retire, I would just simply quit.
Lately our court system has been overloaded due to overzealousness of our DA's office. The most recent incident is a rape case in which I have actually heard the prosecuters say that they know the man is not guilty. But never-the-less, prosecuters see fit to waste the time of 12 jurors, a defense attorney, the judge and the taxpayers money. This is not what the judicial system should be doing. If you need to know more about what I'm talking about, just go to THE MARYVILLE TIMES newspaper homesite. Look up the articles which appeared on 9-15-04 and 9-16-04. You can judge for yourself whether this should have been a case brought forth by the DA's office. I'm sure that Mr. Flynn can do better. There are several other cases which come to mind. Maybe some other people from my area will see this post and decide to write.
