Ok. Well lets see. It was about a little over a month ago that I replied to a wanted ad off of Craigslist. This ad specified the job title to be "Field Organizer". When I replied, the following is what I sent in that message:
"Hello, my name is (BLANK), and I am replying to the wanted ad that you have posted on Craigslist about the recruiters/organizers positions. I would like to mention that I do have experience in recruiting and event organizing. As a matter of fact I was the Assistat Promotional Director for John Robert Powers.
I am attaching my resume in this email for you to review, in which I hope you will find both complete and varied, and will aid me in the hiring proccess. Please call me at the phone number I am providing in my resume for an interview. Thank you!

Well. Pretty soon after I sent out the message above. A man from Progressive Future by the name of, Troy Golden, called me.By the way. Troy is from Raleigh, North Carolina with the area code 919.
When he called me he didn't even interview me right there and then. He told me he was going to send me a job description for me to review. The job description he sent me was the "Field Organizer" description. He also set me up for an interview like a week and a half to like to weeks later.
This first interview with, Troy Golden, was on March the 10th of 2008. When he interviewed me he was very impressed by my experience. That is because I mentioned to him that I used to be the Assistant Promotional Director for John Robert Powers and that I used to do all kinds of marketing with the media.
He even said. And I quote. "Great! That's exactly what we're looking for! Well. I definetly want to invite you for a second run interview with Casey Justice." He even sent me 2 questionnaires for me to fill out to forward to him via email, in which I filled out and did a great job on! He scheduled me for a second interview.in which he said I would be called the next day. On March the 11th of 2008.
So I wrote on my schedule to wait for a phone call on March the 11th. It wasn't even 3 minutes since I had been on the phone with Troy Golden and he was already calling me again. When I picked up the phone he said, "Yeah. I'm gonna have to reschedule you for another time and date!"
I said, "Ok...? Umm. Just let me know when." Then he said. "Let's see. Here... On the 21st!" I thought. Ok. Another damn week of waiting around. But I enthusiastically agreed on that date.
Well that interview for the 21st was at 10am my time (pacific). I definetly made modifications on my schedule for that day to "stick around" waiting for the second interview phone call. No one called at 10am. So when it was 10:36am I emailed Troy a second email (since the first one failed) telling him the following:
"Hello,
I'm not sure if the last message failed getting sent out. But I am sending in this message for Troy Golden.
Troy, this is (BLANK). I am here and it's past 10am. And I am waiting for the phone call you scheduled me with for my second interview.
Please understand that for you guys to not call me back is very inconvenient as I've made modifications in my schedule to stick around waiting for the second interview phone call.
Please call me as soon as possible at (BLANK) to work this out. I understand that Casey was supposed to call me for this second interview. But I don't have Casey's phone number.
I recall you saying that I was exactly what you guys were looking for. That's why I was scheduled for a second interview. I even sent in the two questionares already filled out."
Well. When it was about to be 11am. I called Troy Golden at his phone number and told him that it was already almost past an hour and yet no phone call! He said, "Ok! Well. Let me check on that because it was PROBABLY an error on my end! I'll call you or email you right back letting you know what happened!"
So. I waited. Sure enough, he called me back like 25-30 minutes later! When I answered the phone he didn't explain what had happened. All he said was, "OK! Let me reschedule you for that second interview! Let's see. Here. How about this coming Wednesday the 26th?!"
Right there and then. I was outraged! He had me in a run-around due to his level of unprofessionalism! Well. I didn't argue with him or anything. I just agreed to be rescheduled!
Well exactly at 1:24pm Troy sent me an email that read the following:
" (blank),
Thank you for your application with Progressive Future. Unfortunately your qualifications are not what we are looking for at this point in the campaign. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you a position with us. We wish you the best of luck in your future and thank you again for your time and efforts.

Right there. I really had to speak up about it! I emailed him back with the following message:
"Does this mean I don't have that second run interview. Even though you told me I was what you were looking for?"
Then he emailed me another message that read:
"Weve reviewed many excellent applicants for a limited number of positions and unfortunately we cannot offer every qualified applicant a position. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to call me at 919-260-blank. Thanks, "
Well then I emailed him back the following:
"Well Troy. To be honest with you. I'd like your supervisor's information. Because there's a couple
of things I'd like to bring to top management's attention."
He NEVER got back at me! I wanted to tell his supervisors of the unprofessionalism they had in their hands and the run-around I was in!
Now. I want people to understand my point of view in all of this. Not only was this, Troy Golden, unprofessional not scheduling things right. But discriminating towards me. I believe this because of my name!
You may ask yourself how so do I mean by "discriminating" just think about it! The message that he sent me telling me that they can't fit me in any job position, is just outrageous!
It's outrageous because I didn't just randomly send them an application for them to fit me somewhere. When I read the ad and read the job description it very clearly stated that I was applying for "Field Organizer"! In which they desperately needed in my area!
So for him to say that unfortunately they can't fit me in a position. Is just plain STUPID! Because I sure as hell did NOT send in a random application! I applied for a certain job and they had me in a run-around!
Besides. Since when does an employer promise "ideal candidates" second run interviews to all these bunch of people and just jump to a decision without having given allt he "ideal candidates" an equal opportunity??!! If you ask me. Progressive future discriminates and is not an equal opportunity employer! No wonder the unites states is like it is! Its because of "non-profit" places like this one!
Just a message for progressive future:
You really want a better progressive future?! How about you start off by actually being an equal opportunity employer?! And yes. I am allowing any lawyer or media to contact me about this!
And you troy golden! Shame on you! I rejected 2 job offers after you had me thinking you were serious about letting me have that equal opportunity by promising that second interview! You wasted my time! But karma will get back at you!
