I was in the wrong and parked inappropriately near a library in the city of Katy Texas which is a suburb of Houston. It was raining and when I reached for the ticket it fell apart - no plastic to protect it.
So I waited to hear from them in the mail. I did, no prob. Sent in a check for the amount of the ticket. They sent back the check with a letter saying the amount had gone up. No prob, sent in a check with the higher amount. They sent back a letter saying no checks were allowed - it had to be a money order or a cashiers check.
I have an injured knee and only bank by car, you cannot get mo's and cashiers checks that way. I really have not been sure how to resolve this and now I have a letter saying the amount is $156 dollars and they are going to come to my house and arrest me!
I know I did wrong by parking wrong but something really seems fishy in Denmark - I mean Katy Texas. I guess this kind of shady behavior is the way of the future
