Re: General Issues and Questions
To Whom It May Concern:
Yesterday, I faxed a letter to the Honorable Senator from Pennsylvania.
You see, what happened was that I read in the news that Senator Arlen Specter is very upset because President Bush is adding Signing Statements to Bills. It turns out that the Honorable Senator from Pennsylvania feels that this is somehow unconstitutional and he is introducing legislation to stop this.
When I read this I thought to myself, OK Great, the Honorable Senator from Pennsylvania is fighting for our Constitutional Rights!
So I sent off a letter to him asking what he has done to stop citizens from being illegally detained and arrested over anti-war bumper stickers and T-Shirts.
You see in our country, more and more citizens are becoming afraid of the Government.
More and more people are afraid too write letters to Congressman and Senators, (after the raid on the Congressman from Louisianan's office, people realized that our letters, complaints, and petitions are no longer confidential.)
I then read and see on the news that people are upset with you because President Bush gave you a kiss and why exactly is he against gay marriage?
Anyway, since I wrote a letter to the Honorable Senator from Pennsylvania with general questions, (I posted that letter on the Internet.) I decided to write to you and ask why people should vote for you and what have you done that is so great that you deserve to be re-elected? In other words, what have you done for your constituents and what have you done for the country?
Please keep in mind that I am posting this general letter on the consumer complaints website for the entire world to read. You should also keep in mind that the rip-off website is not some fly-by-night website.in fact they now have had over Seven Billion visitors it's very popular!
Yes I know that I do not live in your state, but I am a voter and you are an elected official and we are both citizens of a great country and that is the only thing that should matter!
Now the next three paragraphs will provide some background for my question!
It turns out that a Christine Nelson, who showed up at a Cedar Rapids rally with a Kerry-Edwards button pinned on her T-shirt and Alice McCabe, who had a small, paper sign stating "No More War, " and were arrested and strip-searched by Police just for that.
You have to understand that I am not making this up; people are being arrested for bumper stickers and T-shirts.
In fact, nobody is immune to this clear and flagrant violation of our constitutional rights. Take as an example what happened to Beverly Young, who is the wife of the Honorable Republican US Representative C.W. "Bill" Young? She too was illegally arrested over a T-shirt by the Capital Police.
Now you have to keep in mind that some other serious Constitutional Rights issues occurred in the 80's when Black's were arrested and tortured by the Detroit Police this is proven and a well documented event unfortunately the Statute of Limitation prevents the perpetrators from prosecution.
So, my question is, What legislation have you introduced that protects peoples Constitutional/Civil rights? Will the Democrats introduce legislation that makes these constitutional rights violations a felony? Will this include severe fines and generous monetary restitution to the victims?
I think this is a fair question!
After all, it is only a matter of time before someone else is beaten by the Police. (In fact it happens all the time here in Cincinnati.) You don't even have to be an expert to see that sooner or later a protester will be killed because they wore a protest button on their shirt.
Do you think that I am joking?
I do remember the Kent State Massacre have you forgotten about that black blot on our country's history?
So what exactly have you done for your Constituents? Can they hold up a sign on the route that a Presidential Motorcade takes without fear of harassment or illegal detainment in your state?
Can US Citizens protest peacefully in your state without fear of being beaten, arrested or shot?
You know what makes this letter so bad? I am old enough to know about the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. I know about the Cincinnati Radiation Experiments. I know about the Kent State Tragedy. These events happened in the last 45 years.
I also know about the Chicago Malaria experiments and I know about the CIA/Army/Navy Biological Warfare Experiments that caused disease outbreaks/fatalities in San Francisco, New York, and other cities.
And let's not forget the illegal wiretaps, when and where will this stop?
You see all of this is connected.
It is violations of our rights and since the Republican Administration will not protect and uphold the Constitution, what are the Democrats doing to protect us?
Think about this people are being arrested over bumper stickers!
If I dare protest or say anything will I be arrested, beaten, photographed, and fingerprinted will my name be added to the No Fly List?
Well, I see that this letter has stretched out to four pages.
I did have some questions about energy like why is the current administration allowing blackout in New York, Saint Louis, and California is it so that they can con the voters into allowing off shore drilling? (If that's the case, Florida will be seeing blackouts as well.)
But I will save that question for another time.
I look forward to your response and good luck with your re-election. I do think that it is a shame that the voters don't realize that they need a person like you in office; you really do throw the powers-that-be off base and we need more of that!
In closing: Obviously since I wrote this letter, is this proof positive that I am a malcontent or some kind of agitator and am a clear threat to the state does this letter make me an enemy of the state... Are you going to turn this letter over to Homeland Security and have my name put on some kind of list?
Isn't that a sad commentary that people are asking these questions now that people are afraid!
