A group of lawyers bought a mobile home park in Madisonville, KY, called Elk Creek Mobile Home Park. I believe all the folks who live here OWN their mobile homes. Most of the folks are elderly on fixed incomes. Many of the residents are single mothers, and those who would be classified as "working poor." Well, this hot-shot group of money-hungry lawyers have bought the park and apparently intend on ROBBING everyone there blind!!!
They are going to demand that all residents sign their "new" contract, which basically buys the residents' souls, lock, stock, and barrel. They know all the people who live there can't afford to just pick up and move their mobile home out, so they have RAISED the lot rent about 30% in one fell swoop! Not only that, they have tacked on many, many new "rules", all of which give them COMPLETE CONTROL - these are lawyers we're talking about - also, IF the current residents get so "uppity" as to consider moving their mobile homes out of the park (now that these robbers have taken over ownership), the contract states that a person must PAY THEM $400 "deposit" (?) before they can even move their mobile home out of the park.
So basically, they are screwed either way.
