I switched my home phone service/internet to Shaw on July 8th. I recieved a bill form Telus of $217.79 on August 05. I called Telus customer service and was told that I had a verbal agreement to pay their cancellation fee of a $120.00. I told the agent that I had not been told by Telus at any time that if I cancelled I would have to pay a fee. I also was charged $99.95 for non return of a modem. I talked to a Customer service agent and was told to return the modem to their head office at the local post office and to phone Telus back with a Bill of Lading number. I posted the modem on October 2. I phoned Telus on October o3 with the number. Telus has refused to credit my account and sent an amount of $284.16 to NCO. The collection company has been calling me every day and Telus has given the collection company my cell number. I found out that my cell company, Koodo mobile is owned by Telus and the company thinks it is their right to give my number out to collection companies without my consent.
