It is a snail mail version of the Nigerian scam. You receive a letter and a check for $3,000 - and told you won a $70,000 prize. You are supposed to call either Thierry Gilbert or Mary Thomas at 347-557-8011 to work out the details. Basically they then ask you to send them a check - and if you do, then they disappear. The check they have sent you likely bounces. There is no free lunch in this world. Be skeptical.
