I sent Rebecca Stephens of Clabec Maltese and now known as Trinity Maltese $2500.00 which included shipping for a 12 week old, 2 pound, AKC malte Maltese puppy out of AKC litter#TS097182 on 04/02. I paid with United States Postal Money Orders and sent certified mail which I have available as evidence to those who have a fax. Two days after receiving my money Becky Stephens called and said she took pupy to the vet for his well check prior to shipping and said per the veterinary's scale the puppy was not 2 pounds as described but was in reality 3 pounds. I told her I would like a prompt, full refund as he be too big as an adult to use in our breeding program. Becky Stephens said she could not do that as she ahd already spent all of the money I sent. She said I would have to wait until she sold the puppy that she referred to as Tigger before she paid me back.in the time between April and November she has never paid me back any portion on fthe money as she agreed. She has had 3 litters that I know of since that time and has tried to get me to accept a very poor quality Maltese in lieu of a quality Maltese which I paid for and in lieu of paying me back cash, all of I have refused. I have requested her to send back my money numerous times and had even agreed to accept payments to no avail. After this experience I noticed that there is numerous complaints from others on line who have experienced fraud in one form or another from this breeder. My patience and hopeful desire that she would be an honest person is now exhausted. I hope my reporting this experience helps others who are considering purchasing a dog from this breeder.
