I looked at my bank account online and noticed a charge from Premier Membership Clubs for $99.49 (in the form of an e-check), which overdrew my checking account. I went into my local branch and reported it. Since I went into the bank the morning after it went on my account, the bank was able to deny the check and return it - rather than use my overdraft protection and pay it. I called Premier Membership Club (after getting the phone number from this site) and was told they would cancel my account, but first was asked several questions to verify they were speaking to the "right" person/holder of the account. I was very uncomfortable giving them my personal information and told them so. But, since they obviously already had all my information, I figured how could it hurt me more. The Premier representative said that the charge was for coupons for various local merchants. I said that it was stupid to pay almost a hundred bucks for coupons and that I would never do that. They agreed to close my "account" and not debit me any further monies. I got a confirmation number from them. As I don't trust them, I am closing my checking account and getting another. This is a pain in the ass because all of my bills are paid through my checking account.
