I applied to this company for a personal loan. They told me I was approved for $5,000.00, but I would have to put up a security payment of $887.50. This security payment was security for them, because I have bad credit. They faxed me a copy of a contract on 10/12, but I wasn't able to come up with the security payment until 10/18. He told me to sign the contract, and fax it back to him, which I did. I then purchased a Greendot Money Pak, as he instructed me, and he stayed on the phone with me during the whole transaction. After receiving the money, he thanked me, and told me that I should be receiving the funds in my bank account on 10/19. On the morning of 10/19, he called me to tell me I would need an additional $1,000.00 for insurance on the loan. This was after the original contract was signed and sent. I told him I could not do this, and he informed me that I would still be responsible for the loan, which I never received, and he could not refund my security payment.in fact, on the contract, it says that insurance is optional, not required. I checked off the box, which said that I do not want insurance. I feel that because the contract was signed, and legally bound, that he defaulted on the contract.
