My father got a call from a "law office" stating his nephew was in an accident and arrested for a DWI and needed $3000 wired to a wall mart for bail. He was told not to tell my cousin's wife or mother. He was also told not to tell the bank what it was for. I know my cousin, that would not happen. This is also such an old scam... But it's back.
When the caller called back to see if the money was sent I asked what the name of the law office was and they hung up. They called from a skype number to a landline which I had forwarded to my cell.
Although this may sound like a clear scam to most, remember the elderly's thought process sometimes is not as clear and they are more trusting. These scam artists are no better than the predators that prey on children. Take the time to look out for the elderly as they did for you as a child.
