US Buildings
Consumer Report

There are so many others that want to send you their complaint as well, because the Florida AG's Office has refused to open up an investigation into the deceitful and fraudulent business practices of US Buildings (they go by other names also). US Buildings needs to be held accountable for all the years they have been operating in this manner. I have been dealing with this for over 14 months.

This is my story of how US Buildings SCAMMED me on August 5 for $9000, and when i rightfully cancelled 2 days later (by email and fax) and again the next day by email and phone calls, the VP of US Buildings, Anthony Rack, demanded that I pay another $9000 to him or he would ruin my credit. They threaten everyone in this manner. Their contract is not valid in my state, and I was never given the back page, as it claims, along with others not receiving it. There are substantial hidden costs involved that they do not tell people, such as fuel surcharges and additional charges to complete the building. They have many scams they pull on people.

US Buildings has violated numerous Maryland (where I live) State Law, Florida State laws (as well as many other State laws) & Federal Law - the US Federal Reserve Systems Truth in Lending Law (Section 226.15) citing the 3 day right of rescission to cancel a contract. This past 12-30-11, notification of this law was republished (Dodd-Frank Act, 1026-15).
US Buildings' salespersons regularly tell people that they can cancel in 3 days and get all their money back, but they NEVER allow anyone to cancel for any reason.

The facts:
1. I have NEVER received ANYTHING for my $9000, not blueprints or anything, yet they have refused to return my money.

2. I was co-erced into signing their "paper" to hold a "clearance" building from going to auction the very next morning. It was, at that time, almost 10:30 pm Friday night. I canceled in writing on 8-7-11.US Buildings did not sign the paper until 8-8-11, the day after I canceled, which is NOT legal. They can not hold me to a "contract" that was never ratified or in effect when they signed.

3.US Buildings told me the building would work for a garage, but it can NOT be a garage, because to install the garage doors, one would have to cut through the steel arches to put door in, and it would ruin and damage the structure of the building. The building is a hut.

4. The salesperson, "Jack" (which is not his real name) told me SO MANY LIES about himself, the building, the construction and installation of the building, the company US Buildings, and he deceived me with this building, gauging me on the price and misrepresenting many things. I was never told that the concrete costs for this building would cost about $50,000. I was told I could easily put this building up in a day with 2 other people. This is another lie.

5. I have document proof of misrepresentation on their website re: "their family of clients" and their "list of satisfied customers".

6. Jack told me the blueprints were free, as it was a CLEARANCE building, yet the $9000 charge is for custom blueprints. Jack never asked me anything for these blueprints to be called "custom", and neither did anyone at US Buildings.

7. We have x-employees of US Buildings who can confirm the deceit and fraud that US Buildings performs on a regular basis.

Additional details -

A salesman from US Buildings (USB) contacted me Fri 8-5-11 following an inquiry I placed on Buyerzone. He, Andrew "Jack" Marcus, told me he had pre-engineered clearance bldgs he could sell way below the value due to a dealer out of business. He said USB was shipping them out the next morning for auction, & it would cost USB $4000 per bldg. He claimed he was a VP, & had to get rid of these bldgs because of inventory tax charged. He told me he could cut a bldgs in half (I put on buyerzone that I wanted 2 garages - 25' x 40' ea). I told Jack that I had just started looking & was not ready to make a decision. He said that he had a 20' x 98' bldg that was going to auction, worth $70,000, shipping costs 10%- $7,000 plus tax, but could sell me the bldg way below value w/no tax (since he could put it on "Arizona" paper), free shipping & free blueprints.

He insisted that all he needed was a name to put on the bldg & pressured me, stating I could cancel w/in 3 days & get my money back. He made numerous fraudulent claims to me during this time about USB, the bldg, how it would look, the costs & time to erect it, etc. I told him I was not sure this was what I wanted, but he assured me that he just needed my name to hold this bldg to save USB money & that I could cancel the order within 3 days for any reason & not pay anything. He told me he needed to label my bldg immediately that evening so that it would not get sent to the auction early next morning & rushed me to sign the order & give him my credit card to hold the bldg. This was done about 10:30 pm.

The next morning I called AmX and told them I was canceling this, and then called Jack and did so. He told me that he was in Arizona (which conflicted with what he said last night) & on his way out to sell the rest of the clearance bldgs (I have an email from him stating this too). After I stated concerns about the bldg & complaints found that morning about USB on the internet, he told me he would call me Mon am after the office re-opened re: my order, stating I could still cancel if I wanted to, but tried to talk me into the sale, even sending me a list of Satisfied Customers.
I emailed him & faxed him a cancellation notice the next morning, Sunday 8-7-11 (2 days later). I called USB on Mon at 9:04 am & left a message w / Shay (answering service) cancelling my order. I received an email from Jessica w/USB re: my order & sent her an email (which she told me she forwarded to management) cancelling my order. She told me that I needed to contact my salesperson, which I told her I did, but Jack had not returned my calls. Jack contact me that day by email, and stated to me "that it was out of his hands and the order was in their Engineering Dept).
Someone else from USB, Derrick, contacted me & offered me the same bldg for $26,000, w/free shipping & blueprints (I have an email from him stating the Blueprints were free). Later that day, Derrick called me & told me that the bldg he was selling me was going to be shipped for auction the next morning & I could get it for $16,500 if I gave him my credit card then.
Jack sold me something verbally different than what he put on the order. The Quonset hut on the invoice has 1 wall (can't be 16' high if 20' w), is incomplete & is not what he described. I never received a copy of the back of the order, as it declares & it was never reviewed. Blueprints were not custom, as billed. Jack overcharged/gouged me on the cost of this hut (valued apprx $9000 each).
On their website, they used 9 other companies logos as their "family of clients", which was done w/out knowledge and authority from - Army, Marines, Boeing, GM, 3M, United, Universal Studios, Ford. The last logo - CalTran is again looking into the matter (i spoke today to Katie Beouar @916-654-3660). The other companies sent letters to them to take them off the website (altho I have pics of these logos on their website). US Buildings has a list of Satisfied Customers, which I started calling, and it seems to be mostly fabricated. They have almost 200 complaints on a Florida BBB site & hundreds more on others.

Many of us have complained to Florida's AG's office, but NOTHING has been done, and many are still getting scammed everyday, like one of their latest victims, Irwin Santos (sukkot. [email protected]) from the Honduras, who gave US Buildings $20,800 for a building for his church, and US Buildings is refusing to give him his building. He speaks spanish and needs to get his money back, like the rest of us.

US Buildings' representatives harass people by the phone, as many will attest too. Their salespeople are told by US Buildings to say anything to get someones's credit card, as I was informed by Tyrone M, (AmX employee #59355), in a recorded telephone conversation with him on 9-6-11 when paying my AmX bill over the phone with him. He stated he worked for US Buildings for 1 week in April or May of but quit due to their deceit and other wrongful business practices. Please let me know what you need from me and others for this to be investigated.

US BUILDINGS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE FLORIDA'S AG'S OFFICE, YET THEY REFUSE TO DO SO. Many of us have filed complaints, but nothing has been done by the AG's office. PLEASE HELP US.

Thank you,
Eileena York
