Tonight, I had two items to return to Best Buy. Both never used. Both items never opened. Both with receipts from just a couple of weeks ago. One was a credit card return and the other a cash return. Each receipted item totaled less than $10.
When the first item was returned, I had to give my id, which was fine, then he asked for my phone number and because my last name was not registered in any phone book (I only use a cell phone) It took nearly 5 minutes to go through this return. I asked why this took so long and he advised that they have a new company that they check with for all of their returns.
And I went through that very same thing for my credit card return.
So, does this mean that even with a receipt, they are following all of our returns? Are we limited to how many returns we are allowed-with receipts? Does this affect our credit report? Will this be the same policy with gift receipts?
I had intended on picking up a Boxee Box and headphones, but decided to purchase them elsewhere.
