Awful company. I never write reviews but, well, let's say att has changed that for me. Had them years ago as my cell phone provider and couldn't stand them but I thought I'd give their dsl a try. For starters, they get you hooked with a really great price but then tell you that you pay the regular rate until a few billing cycles later which is when it's supposed to kick in (and then your bill is supposed to be prorated) Well it's not that easy, in fact I think it's an extremely confusing and deceitful billing system; they don't even describe where the charges are coming from. They just give you the total price and don't break it down. I was supposed to be getting the deal where my dsl is 19.95 a month for 1 year. However, the first bill is the regular 48.00 plus set up fees (that no one warned me about so it was actually 65.00 and when I called and told them I was never informed, they just said sorry there's nothing they could do about it.) So then my second bill was 29.95 and I called to ask why they were now charging me this. The customer service lady (named Joy, psh) attempted to explain the charges to me but she made no sense at all. I still don't get it. Not only was she unhelpful but there was alot of noise in the backround, like her fellow employees were just goofing off. So anyway she explained the billing detail in a way that made absolutely no sense so when I told her I was confused and to explain it again she got annoyed, said the same exact thing and even put me on mute a few times (you can tell because the phone line went dead and I thought she hung up on me - I used to work in customer service I'm not dumb to all this) and THEN cold transfers me to gosh knows who, some guy's voicemail named Dave. So at this point I just hung up and went on here to write a complaint! (which I never do, if that means anything to you.) And I still don't know why my current bill is not the 19.95 deal or even 48.00 at that. I tried calling back to speak to a manager but they were "experiencing high call volume" So I had no luck there, either. Now I remember why I couldn't stand att to begin with. If I don't get penalized, I'm switching to Charter. The company is deceitful, rude and horribly unprofessional no matter which department you're dealing with.
