Dove Remodeling Company
Consumer Report

On 29 June a severe rain storm went through the Baltimore County area, and a tree fell on my roof destroying the kitchen and the livingroom. June 30th, Calvin McCalligan (DOVE contractor) came by my house for a pre-scheduled appointment, and asked if he can have the job of removing the tree and debrie from my house and property. I asked him what he would charge and he quoted me $2,000.00, and prepared a bill for it. I immediately scanned and emailed the bill to the Allstate's Desaster Team, so that they could send them a check. The Allstate insurance adjustor (Robert Carpenter) arrive on the scene, 2 July to survey the damages, and I told him what Dove was charging to remove the tree and debrie for, which he agreed with the price. He further, relayed to me that he wanted Dove (if they agreed) to remove the tree branches, which were all over the leftside of the house (the livingroom & the kitchen area), so he could accurately assess the damages. Furthermore, he asked if Dove would remove 8'X 8' section of the livingroom ceiling drywall, so that he can see the trusses in the roof raftor area. He assured me that Allstate will cover the all costs of the preliminary stages of the recovery process with a separate check sent directly to Dove. All Robert Carpenter requested was a 2nd bill be prepared for the cost of removing the ceiling drywall and for laying tarp on top of the roof (minus debrie removal) to prevent further damage to the inside of the house. Dove Remodeling Company failed to provide the additional bill; and furthermore, lied about the services they rendered with overly inflated cost. Actually, they removed the tree trunk, but failed to removed the tree limbs and other debrie from my property; and therefore, delaying a check being cut by Allstate, until Dove resent the bill with the corrections on it. About 4 days after Calvin had given me a bill for $2,000.00, then the owner, Jerry stopped by and said that the cost will be $9,500.00. And, Robert Carpenter, the adjustor, said that they would not pay $9,500.00 for the removal a tree from my roof.in the meantime, I was told by Terika, Allstate claims respresentative that they were going to settle the billing dispute with Dove Remodeling Company. Calvin McCalligan, the Dove Contractor, called me demanding their money ($9,500.00), and said that he talked to Terika, the claims representative, who said a check was mailed to me to settle the preliminary services rendered. I brought up the fact that he did not remove the debrie from my property and that a neighbor accomplish that task. He then drop the price to $7,800.00. I never received the check from Allstate. He also stated, he was going to put a lein on my house for nonreceipt of $7,800, and I told him I was going to report him for his dishonesty and unprofessional practices.in actuality, Terika, the claims representative said she had not talked to anyone in the Dove company since, 8 Aug and that conversation was with the company secretary. I caught him in a big lie, and I told him that he needed to get his story straight; and also, get his paperwork straight (corrected), and send it to Allstate and leave me alone! I was initially told by Terika in July (the Allstate Claims Representative) not to get involve with it-that she would handle the whole process. Everything that's on this report is recorded on Allstate recording machine that Allstate so diligently informs me about each time I call into the Disaster Team Section of Allstate. All they have to do is pick those days I called into the section and play them back! Everything stated in this report is the truth!
