The move took place on 11/14. Needless to say I am not happy with the service provided. Lets start at the beginning... I received a phone call from the movers at 10:11am telling me that they would be at my home at 11am. I sat there waiting until 12:25 for them to arrive. I had no problem with 12:25 if they hadn't had me sitting there at 11am. When they arrived I pointed out everything that would need to be moved and I was told there may not be room on the truck. I then sat outside in order to give them some space. During a conversation with Keith, the companies owner, I told him that there would be a large work out machine to which he stated that they would take it apart. My husband decided to do it himself in order to make it easier for the movers. There was 1 part that could have been broken down a little further but instead of doing that they left it in the basement. I also had pointed out a shelving unit and was told they would get it and it was left. It had taken them so long (more than 2 hours) to get the furniture out so when I noticed these items I said to forget about it. On a side note... I mentioned that they should feel free to take a bottle of water from the fridge... As they pulled off I noticed that one of the guys had taken an energy drink which he hadn't been given permission to take... Not that its a big deal but it did bother me a little. The house we moved to is about 2 minutes away from where we were leaving. I led them over and then handed them off to my husband so I could run an errand.
When I returned my husband and his friends were helping the movers because they were taking so long.in the process of moving a TV into the basement they put a great big hole in the wall. That's not even mentioning what they did with my armoire. These are supposed to be professional movers but they had no idea how to handle this piece of furniture.in the process of moving the armoire they took out 1 wall and put deep scratches in several other walls along with breaking several pieces of wood off the base of the item. All of the drywall needed to be replaced. They also stated that they didn't know that they would be moving a few other items that were in front of the house inside... These items were included in the quote. I think this pissed them off. So last night as we were trying to put a piece of furniture back together that they had disassembled we noticed that the items used to hold the furniture together had been lost... So now we have to try and see if we can get replacement parts.
On top of all of this... It took them so long because they obviously didn't know what they were doing that it cost us double the amount that was quoted... Not taking into account the cost to fix what they broke or lost. As the movers were done they informed us that we owed them an extra $100.00 which we paid. Before they left my husband over heard one of the guys on the phone with the owner telling him that they had been paid the original amount so it was obvious he had pocketed the extra $100.00 cash. When I let Keith know about this he said that he would send me a check for the money which I have never received. I have contacted Keith many times trying to resolve this and every time he told me he would be sending me the check and coming by my house to see the damage so we can be reimbursed. After months we have still not received the check and he hasn shown up to see the damage. I have sent him pictures of the damages and pleaded with him to come through but he has not. I have also sent him copies of all of our emails so he can see where he admitted to many of these things. I want him to return the $100.00 and pay to have the damages to both the furniture and the walls fixed.
