I purchased a Model LFX25975sw LG refrigerator in June for about $2000.00 white in color. A couple of months ago the plastic housing around the water/ice dispenser began turning a yellow color. We tried cleaning it to no avail. We contacted the local appliance store where it was purchased and they gave an estimate of $155.46 to replace the housing. The rest of the refrigerator remains a bright white including the tray under the water/ice dispenser. LG Customer Service was not helpful stating that they do not warranty cosmetic damage. This is obviously a flaw in the material used in the housing as this yellow color does not appear anywhere else on the refrigerator. This seems very strange to me as LG started out manufacturing plastics and should know as much a anyone regarding the properties of plastic. Cosmetics is an important concern for our all white kitchen and this stands out like a sore thumb. It is LG's responsibility to replace it at no cost to me.
