Scared my Mother with a Bogus Claim

On 8/14 a service call was made to perform a Service inspection.
Cannot read Tech Name.
Evap Coil and Blower wheel dirty has high temp split due to E coil dirty.
78df eat 48df lat.
Cannot read pressures.
My Mother was upset by techs warnings of high bills and dirty condition of Coil and Blower.
(At $50 per month X 50% = $25 her power bill due to loss of efficiency is a ludicrous claim).
He offered an approx $400 service to clean coil and brush blower wheel.
I am a Mech Eng working in HVAC for 39 years.
I called a separate firm.
Evap was not dirty, blower was not dirty.
Temps were 18 dF delta (78 EAT, 60 LAT) perfect.
Pressures were 250/60... Perfect.
CU amped out perfect.
With a split DX unit at 20 to 25 years of age it has exceeded its normal life expectancy of 15 years.
A 20 year old coil will be dirtier than a new coil.
With her having a contract with you for over 15 years, I would expect you to have performed maintenance to avoid your claims.
I feel the Tech left a bogus report to disallow any unit replacement due based on owner neglect since she refused cleaning.
In addition the findings were found to be in error by a independent service agency.
Your Tech left my 82 year old Mother emotionally distraught thinking if she did not spend $400 her unit was going to fail.
If she choices to continue warranty service with your firm, please do not send out the Tech that came last month again.
