Walgreens
Charged twice for same prescription

Picked up a prescription at Walgreen's store #10356 and paid with ck. #9182.
I received a call from The First National Bank of South Miami stating"Walgreen's put charge in twice."

With my approval they returned one of the chaarges. A few days later Walgreen's tried putting check in a second time and was refused. A couple of weeks later I began receiving calls from Trx collections trying to collect a bad check Walgreen's said I had writen #9182.
Realizing, mistakes are sometime made I went to Walgreen's with bank statement
in hand showing the Pharmacy manager that ck# 9182 was paid. He said, "I'll handle it." A week later the calls from the collection continued. I returned to Walgreen's and spoke to the same person who was suppose to handle it. He said, "Corporate has to see where check was decucted twice."
Naturally, I became upset and told him in no uncertain that Corporate was a bunch of idiots. I said, "I wrote one check #9182 and have proof that walgreen"s received payment. He said, "There was nothing he could do."
Later in the month I went shopping at
Publix and they refused my check. It seems I had writen a $50.00 bad check to Walgreen's.

I was embarrassed, humilated and totally stressed out. Because everyone knew who I was. I have written a few articles for the Miami Herald and a couple of books, one of which I was hawking at Publix.
I was told to contact Certegy Check services to straighten this out. Called Certigy and faxed them bank statement that indicated check #9182 was submitted twice. Also sent faxes to Collection agency and Clear Check plus Walgreen's. Called clear ck a few days later and was told my record was clear.
A week later returned to Publix and was refused again. This time it was even more embarrasing because I knew some the the customers that were in line. I have sent a total of 9 faxes to the agencis involved. I was told that if I wanted to clear this up to contact Walgreen's and they have to clean it up. I sent a rtn receit requested to Walgreen's reg. Letter advising them that they should clear this up pronto. This whole ordeal started July 15, and here it is September 19 and I still can't get a check cashed. On at least a half dozen occassions I wanted the Mr. Of Walgreens to call me. No response as of today. I sent them a fax stating that I am preparin to file suit for $25,000 listing a dozen of reasons. This got their attention for a young women called from Walgreen's wanting to know the Bank and the officer involved.
Talked to her and she said she was denied information from Certigy.

This is becomming a three ring circus.
I informed her that Walgreen's doesn't know the right hand from the left. I said "What do you do when you get a bad check." Go through all the steps because
there is a communication breakdown and II, m the one on the short end of the stick. As of today 9/20 I still can't pay for my groceries by check.
I have be totally embarrased, humilated and have suffered mental anguish.
This is a modern day story of David vs
Goliath. The biggest drug firm in the world hasn't the time to deal with the little guy.
