Picked up prescription at Walgreen's paid with ck #9182 $50.00. The First National Bank of South Miami advised me Walgreen's put the charge in twice. I authorized them to send one charge back. A few days later Walgreen"s tried putting charge in again and was refused. A short time later I began receiving calls from collection agency it seems Walgreen's had a bad ck. #9182 $50.00. Realizing that employees sometimes make mistakes I went to Walgreen's and spoke to Pharmacy mgr. And showed him copy of bank statement. He said, "I'll handle it. "Within a few days calls from collection agency increased. Returned to Walgreen's and spoke to same person. He stated, "Corporate has to see where my account was charged twice. I replied, "Are they retarded, I wrote one ck #9182 and the bank paid check #9182. I returned home and faxed Walgreen's bank statement with explanationf for their records. Went shopping at Publix and they refused to accept my ck. It seems that I had written a bad ck #9182 to Walgreen's. Iwas totallyembarassed and humilated and was in great stress because i have never writen a bad ck. I had to contact Certigy check cashing service and clear this up. Made contact and they said I had to file a dispute claim. (which I did). I faxed all the information to them. A week latter returned to Publix and was devasted by their not cashing my ck. For groceries. Called Certigy and they said I had to clear this up with Telecheck. Unbeknown to meI had faxed telecheck and had a letter confirming my acct. Was clear. Faxed letter to Certigy. Telecheck assured that I would have no problem with Publix. Returned to Publix and was denied. Called Certigy and they said, "Walgreens has to handle it." This is an example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Called Walgreen's, talked to asst. Mgr. I wanted the Mgr. To call me. Faxed her copies of bank statement plus insisting she get on it. Called her and she acknowledged she received my fax. A couple a days later went to Publix, was refused. To date I haven't heard a word from Walgreen's. This is a classic story of David and Goliath. Walgreen's the biggest drug chain in the United States beating the little guy for a mistake that they made. They don't have the decency to respond to any of my inquires.
