I do apologies for the length of the review i just want potential customers to get the whole story,
I was in the Modesto, CA ulta beauty store today 11/11 returning an item i had purchased previously because i found the exact same item at a different store for much much less than ultas price. I got twenty questioned then recieved my refund. No problems there. I asked the girl at the register if they recycled there plastic bags? (the reason im including this is im thinking maybe she thought i was going to use the bag to steal things i do not know?) so she replied no they do not and i said ok i will take it and recycle it. I then proceeded to ask the cashier to point me in the direction of a certain makeup brand she insisted on showing me herself, i said great then lets go. With a nasty sort of attitude she asked me if i knew any thing about the product i told her i did and i had a couple of questions for her.
At this point i just wanted to #1 know if they carried the product. #2 find out what there return policy on makeup was, #3 look at the different tester shades. A smart shopper reaserches a product, looks at colors textures consistancy etc. Before you buy. She then proceeds to tell me that they do color matching i told her great but no thank you not today because i was not planning on purchasing the product today. So i go about my buisness and begin looking at testers then a few minutes go by i hear the same cashier say over the loud speaker say" for security to scan all makeup areas." I think nothing of it and continue about my buisness then i see different employess walking by me and watching me. I think to my self thats strange but continue on. I move on to looking at other products and to my shock i see and employee go to the product that i was testing with their testers provided and was checking the merchandise to see if i had stolen any of the products.
It was enfuriating the way they treat paying customers there. I gave them know reason to suspect me and treat me like a thieving criminal. Not giving them my plastic bag from the return, Looking at products, and refusing color matching is certainly not a reason. It must have been something about the way i looked or dressed (sweatshirt, jeans, sneakers) i am thinking that made them treat me this way. I guess i will never know. Needless to say i will never shop there again. Overpriced, extremly rude emloyees doesn't help either. I would not reccomend anyone else to shop there either unless you want to be treated like a thief right when set foot in the store.
