My 92 year old mother's checking account was debited for $447.34 by electronic check made out to YR Benefits. When I called the number on the check, I was told they would cancel the service (discount health benefits) that they sold to my mother and refund the money. I have called every week since beginning of June and am told the same thing. As I have read the same scenario reported by many others, I know this is a scam and I have filed a report with the state attorney general's office. Since this is crossing state lines, I can also file a report with the FBI. If enough of us do this something might be done to stop more elderly people being taken advantage of by these rip-offs.
