Formal complaint
I am making a formal complaint against your company for failing to deliver my furniture within the stipulated time frame. I was informed that my furniture would be delivered within 6 weeks of ordering with a maximum delivery being 8 weeks which would allow for your terms and conditions of sale under paragraph 2. Deliveries
I ordered a three piece suite and a dining table and chairs on the 6 June and explained to the manager that we needed this furniture as a matter of urgency otherwise we would need to order from another supplier, I was promised that my order would take a maximum of 8 weeks so on that note I paid for the order in full.
On the 7 August I received a telephone call informing me that my furniture would be delivered to a local store on the 24 August and then you would make arrangements 1 to 2 weeks thereafter to deliver my furniture making the total time approximately 14 weeks which is far from acceptable and disgraceful. I must return to work on the 3 September and therefore I am unable to take time off work due to teaching children.
I telephoned your customer service department on the 7 August and explained the situation but they was very unhelpful and just kept saying that they could deliver any time within the contract terms which I find appalling. When I asked for the person’s name I was talking to she refused to give me her full name. The telephone call was as 13.45 and the first name was Shavana.
I have been informed that my dining table and chairs was in fact delivered to a local store on the 1 July and this could have been delivered to my home.
