I have an extended auto service warranty with Interstate. It states that I can take the vehicle into any authorized service center for work. I took it into Uptown Motors, an authorized repair facility for Dodge. I took the vehicle in on Sat., July 21st and was told I need a torque converter and I had to bring it back on Mon. For repair. The service mgr. Called Interstate and was told they wanted to send an inspector before work was started. They would not commit to a time for this inspection so we waited until late Tues. Morning for someone to show up. I had to have the vehicle back on Tues. Night because we were leaving for vacation on Wed. Afternoon and I told them that. I called Interstate again Tues. And was advised that they couldn't tell me when an inspector would be there. I had to finally tell Uptown to go ahead and I paid for the work myself. Now Interstate won't pay for the work because the inspector never showed up in time. I don't see why an inspector would have to go to a licensed repair facility in the first place. I certainly would not have taken the vehicle in if there wasn't a problem. If I could have waited for the repair until after we got back, I would have done that. Their car rental policy only covered one days' rental so that would not have worked.
