Oscaar Mayer and their parent company Kraft Foods marketed an Oscar Mayer pedal car for young children. I own one but it was missing one decal which I wanted to replace before showing it to my young grandchildren. I went online to find one and was horrified to learn that the decals had been recalled due to their containing LEAD, a CANCER causing agent. They had a "promotion" in 1998 that lasted one year to replace the decals. Probably thousands of these pedal cars were made in the 1990's and many are still out there. I called consumer relations on July 26 and spoke to someone who said that they would contact the distributor of the decals to see if they could get me any. Not having heard from anyone by August 10, I called back and spoke to a consumer representative named Fernando who kept talking over me. He said the "promotion was only for one year, was over and they are not getting anymore. I told him I wanted to speak to a supervisor but he said I couldn't and would be told the same thing. He said I could speak to another rep. I was connected to a supervisor, Elisa Casas who said the same thing despite my saying that I would go online with this. She even said I could use her name that they would do nothing. She had said that the promotion was only for how long supplies lasted. Supplies of replacement decals should last as long as the pedal cars are out there. Shame on Kraft and Oscar Mayer for putting their profit ahead of childrens' safety and exposing them to a cancerous agent.
