Oscar Mayer / Kraft discontinued the only product my family and I purchased from the company exclusively. I can get my bacon, bologna or wieners from just about any company, but I could only buy my Smokie Links from Oscar Mayer.
Oscar Mayer/Kraft alleges that they discontinued Smokie Links because of lack of interest by consumers — that is a LIE! The only lack of interest came from retailers who would rather offer dozens of different types of wieners, but couldn't find the space for two types of Smokie Links, the regular and the beef. Obviously, Oscar Mayer/Kraft would rather cater to retailer desires for "diversity" in wiener offerings, than cater to the actual consumers of their products.
Having finally discovered the reason why I can't find Smokie Links in the stores any more — Oscar Mayer/Kraft's total disregard for consumer preferences over retailers' alleged lack of shelf space to devote to the product (and a really bad bunch of sales reps not representing this great product very well). I can say with certainty that I won't be forgetting just whom to blame for the loss of one of my favorite comfort foods.
That would be YOU, Oscar Mayer/Kraft!
This being the case, I will be alerting my whole extended family as to the reason why they can't find Oscar Mayer/Kraft Smokie Links at the market any more and why they are forced to settle for those crappy Sarah Lee/Hilshire Farms faux Smokies instead — we have been stabbed in the back by a bunch of wieners!
BTW, Smokie Links CAN be eaten in a bun, just like a wiener, and are far superior to any wiener Oscar Mayer/Kraft makes!
