Although, the resort has been good thus far... I booked it through Travelocity to potentially use some e-cards from Discover. Travelocity was more expensive than going through another company, but with my e-cards it would be less. Problem was that Trvelocity failed to mention the cleaning fees.
Being a single parent, and teacher, I booked through Travelocity to save money. I specifically chose this place because no cleaning fee was advertised... Which is almost the cost of an extra night in some places.
We checked in late after it closed. I get up the next morning to go check into the office, thinking everything was paid for, and they tacked on the cleaning fee. They said because I didn't go through Resort Quest I would have known.
I think the resort great, but if they know that there are services out there not being honest... Then maybe they shouldn't let them represent them. That also frustrated me a bit.
I sent an e-mail to Travelocity asking for some kind of positive response to an e-mail I sent. I asked for an explanation please explaining why they don't disclose certain fees. I explained that I was a single parent on a budget, and I don't appreciate certain information not being disclosed. I could have gone through the other company, and it would have been cheaper, and everything was disclosed... And to the same place.
Of course I haven't heard anything.
Again, the resort has been good... It just frustrates me that they let this go on. I know they know because the front desk says that happens some times, and that we still had to pay it. It was about $90. Seriously, I could have gotten a room elsewhere for that price, and we could have stayed longer in the area.
It really put a damper on our trip because that was money supposed to be used as going to attractions around town in Panama City. Bummer!: (
