Sent first text messages to my cell phone and my daughter's in June. I replied STOP, my underage daughter ignored. They charged both of us $9.99 for June and continued billing her phone for July. I called T-mobile and blocked the number for any future charges but T-mobile said I would have to contact the company to have them refund what was already charged. When I called, they told me they could mail me a check in 7 to 14 days if I gave them my name and address but could not credit back to my phone bill. I argued that this is unlawful for them to be able to charge my account without my authorization and then tell me they can not credit back in the same manner. When I told him this company is doing something I believe is illegal, the phone went dead. Both of my numbers are also on the do not call registry. How can we stop scams like this from being able to make unauthorized charges? It is wrong for someone to be able to charge me and then I have to spend the time to try to get my money back! Even if I do, they are essentially getting an interest free loan from me and everyone else without consent.
